The Man from Toronto Movie is an American action comedy film directed by Patrick Hughes and starring Kevin Hart, Woody Harrelson, Kali Cuco and Ellen Barkin.

Casting

Jason Statham and Kevin Hart were announced in January 2020 to star in the film. Statham will be out of the project in March, six weeks before filming, after clashes with producers over the film’s tone and ratings. Woody replaced Harrelson. Kale Kwoko was added in April and Pearson Ford in May. Jasmine Mathews, Ellen Barkin, Leila Lauren and Tomohisa Yamashita will be added in October.

Robbie Fox’s screenplay for The Man from Toronto will be directed by Patrick Hughes in January 2020 and will be distributed by Escape Artists and Sony Pictures, along with Jason Blumenthal, Todd Black, Bill Bannerman and Steve Tish.

Premise

After living in an Airbnb, the two confuse each other and are forced into a screw-up to join a killer.

The Man from Toronto Movie Filming

The Filming is set to begin in Atlanta in April 2020, but production was halted in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Filming began on October 12, 2020 in Toronto. Rob Hardy is the photographer.

Release Date

The film is set to release on November 20, 2020. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the date of April 24, 2020 has been changed to September 17, 2021. In March 2021 it was withdrawn from the schedule. The film is scheduled to release on April 14, 2022, in April 2021. Netflix has signed a deal with Sony for the right to stream upcoming movies, including this movie, exclusively after their theatrical and home media windows.
