Your tension in the name of the first Prime Minister should increase further, let us understand that at the time of Barkatullah Khan being talked about here, India was a slave of the British when he was elected Prime Minister, while Pandit Nehru Azad was called the first Prime Minister of India. That’s why people read and hear more about him. But Barkatullah Khan is also a person who should be talked about.

Since his contribution in the war of independence was not less. Born on 7 July 1854 in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, Barkatullah’s family was an important part of the Bhopal state. Some believe that he was born in 1857 or 1858.

He received Arabic, Persian and English training from Sulaimaniya School.

Impressed by Sheikh Jamaluddin Afghani, the leader of international fame, he decided to unite the Muslims of all countries. During this time, the mother-father died. A sister was responsible on the head, so she was also married.

Now there was no one in the life of Barkatullah Khan except his goal.

He left Bhopal one day without informing anyone and reached Bombay. Here children continued their education in English language with tuition reading. After completing his studies in Bombay, he turned to England.

Although he went to study in England, but from here the direction of his life changed. Barkatullah met Shyamji Krishna Varma, the patron of the migrant Indian revolutionaries here.

This meeting of a few hours left a deep impression on Barkatulla. He became vocal for India’s independence.

To spread revolutionary ideas and activities for the independence of India, he joined the pen. Through his revolutionary articles, he soon came into the discussion.

Khan was appointed to the post of Professor of Persian at the Oriental College of Liverpool University, but his pen continued against the atrocities of British rule in India.

This was the reason that Khan’s protest started in England. The situation became so bad that Barkatullah was in a position to leave the country.

NRI did one
Barkatullah reached America in 1899. Where he along with the diaspora held a conference for India’s independence. His speeches and articles against the British rule continued here too. In order to keep expenses, he worked in teaching Arabic in schools, but the heart and mind were engrossed in India’s concern.

A letter written to Hasrat Mohani is a proof of his concern for India. In a part of which he wrote that- “It is a matter of great regret that, 2 crore Hindustani, Hindus and Muslims are dying of hunger, starvation is spreading all over the country, but the British Government is giving its goods and goods to India Started to pursue the policy of making.

The plunder of crores of rupees from Hindustan is done only in the form of interest of capital invested in this country and this loot is constantly increasing. It is necessary for this slavery of the country and its declining condition in it that Hindu-Muslims of the country should unite and join Congress to increase Hindu-Muslim unity for the freedom struggle of the country. ”

Affected by the revolution of 1857, Barkatullah arrived in Japan from America to awaken the new revolution. Which was the main destination of the overseas Indian revolutionaries in those days. By the end of 1905 Barkatullah had become a great revolutionary thinker.

He emphasized that Muslims, along with Hindus and Sikhs, have to fight against the British rule. However, even in Japan, British officers did not let him rest in peace and once again he reached America.

By the time they reached America again, the Pravasi Hindustani had started the effort to form the Ghadar Party. Khan joined them and united Indian migrants living in Canada and Mexico.

After the establishment of the Ghadar Party on 13 March 1913, he organized a conference of 120 Indians. This became the major campaign for the independence of the country outside India. In which immigrant revolutionaries like Sohan Singh Bahkana and Lala Hardayal joined.

Barkatullah dreamed of establishing a democratic and secular republic in India by overthrowing the British Raj.

Formed temporary government of India
The Gadar Party began publication of the weekly Gadar, in which Barkatullah continued to write his revolutionary articles. The campaign reached Germany from America. Champak Raman Pillai, Bhupendranath Dutta, Raja Mahendra Pratap and Abdul Waheed Khan fueled this movement.

Barkatullah first met King Mahendra Pratap here. They soon became close friends.

Both of them pitted them against the British government after they had revolted against the British army from the warring Indian soldiers in Berlin. Together they traveled to Turkey, Baghdad and then Afghanistan to bring the movement to India.

At that time, Germany was fighting against Britain in the First World War and so Barkatullah and King Mahendra became special to the government of Germany. During the journey, the government also provided them soldiers for protection. But when they reached Kabul, they were put under house arrest by British soldiers. The German government pressured and Afghan Awam also protested.

Eventually he was freed from captivity and in 1915 formed the provisional government of India. During the First World War, the anti-British government immediately gave recognition to this temporary revolutionary government of Hindustanis in Afghanistan. aPandit Nehru ‘Barkatullah Khan

Sorry we forgot them!

Although Barkatullah, his age had begun to respond before the fire of this movement could reach within India. He arrived in California to address a gathering for the independence movement. As soon as he stood up to speak, his health started deteriorating. Address canceled. A few days later, on 27 September 1927, Barkatullah Khan breathed his last in America.

While battling with the disease, he told his colleagues that “I was active for the freedom of India for life.” It is a pleasure for me that my life could be used for the betterment of my country.

It is a pity that our efforts have not yielded any fruit in our lives, but at the same time it is also happy that now thousands of young people are coming forward for the freedom of the country, who are honest and courageous.

I can confidently leave the future of my country in their hands. In his last days, he had expressed his wish that the grave of his grave be buried in India. But he was buried in the Marvsbili necropolis of America.

Bringing the soil of Barkatulla’s tomb to India, the political leaders have forgotten even his name!
